Cecilia Salvesen is facilitating a two day practical training workshop for qualified aromatherapy and massage therapists in Durban, South Africa, on Saturday 9 June and Sunday 10 June 2012 from 08.30am to 4.30pm. Friday night 8 June 2012 from 6pm to 10pm is a refresher “brush-up” for therapists who did the workshop in 2010.
The Art of Advanced Massage is more than simply massage, as a wide-range of massage and injury techniques, as well as stretches are covered in order to complement the massage and enhance the client’s wellbeing. Therapists will learn how to work the entire body inch by inch at both a superficial and deep level in order to improve muscle function, lengthen fascia and increase joint range of motion. As this is a practical workshop, therapists will work in pairs so that both participants can be taught the techniques as well as experience the treatment. The entire workshop is structured to increase therapists massage skills and knowledge. Cecilia will teach many varied and effective massage and treatment techniques that are certain to bring results and enhance your practice.

The Art of Advanced Massage does not place stress on the therapist, thus allowing hours of treatment without feeling fatigued or strained. Clients love the feel and effectiveness of the varied strokes and acknowledge their benefits.
Additional Neurological Massage Techniques will be taught and demonstrated by Juanique Roney who will be accompanying Cecilia from America. Juanique works with chiropractors and uses techniques to identify trapped nerves; together with massage procedures to release these nerves. This is a “MUST” and should not be missed. These techniques will be taught and demonstrated on both the refresher workshop as well as the training workshop.
The 2-day workshop is R1,600 (one thousand six hundred rand) per person, payable in advance. R750 on registration and balance by 31May 2012. Space is limited consequently registration will be on a first come, first served basis.
