Module 1: Dividing the foot in various reflex areas and connecting these to the anatomical divisions of the body.

Learning Outcomes:

On Completion of this learning section, the learner will be able to:

• Identify the various areas of the foot
• Divide the foot into various reflex areas
• Connect the divisions of the foot to the anatomical regions of the body
• Establish the midline of the foot and measure the plantar aspects of the foot
• Establish the waistline position on the foot

Module 2: Detailed mapping indicating the reflexes and connecting the reflexes to the anatomy and physiology of the systems and organs.

• Demarcate the reflexes on delineated chart drawings of the feet.
• Label the reflexes on the chart drawings
• Demarcate, position and label the reflexes on the given chart.

Module 3: Pressure Techniques and Grips used in a Reflexology treatment.

• Explain and describe the principles of Yin and Yang
• Explain and describe the movements and congestions along meridians
• Explain and describe Man as a Microcosm – The five Elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water, associated with sense organs, body tissues, emotion, fluid secretion, seasons, sound, physical manifestation, etc.
• Comprehend that meridian blockages are due to the dense matter congesting the meridian pathways.
• Describe the connection between food we eat, the thoughts we have, our feelings and the congestion of meridians.
• Comprehend the five elements as a system in which Ch’i patterns in the body can be observed.

Reading the Feet, Hands and Face in relation to the Meridians and the Five Elements.

Module 2: Observe and record tactile and visual conditions of the feet, hands and face.
